New Years Reflections

New Years Day, a time for reflection.

First stop is the garage to look at some numbers.

91K
03 K1200GT 30,272
87 K75 93,221
03 Acura TL 168,500 (technically not in the garage)

Some days it's good not to have the bike!
I can't believe I have a car approaching 200K. But there is a timing issue now. Lisa will be 15 at the end of the month. I can't wait to teach her to drive. I may as well hand down my car. Tired or not that car has 260hp quite a treat for a new driver. I think my first car had 48hp. a '78 VW diesel Rabbit. So maybe Lisa is a little spoiled.

I'll be thinking about a new vehicle for myself this year. Part of me wants a spiffy new car, part of me wants to buy used and get more utility. We'll see which side wins.
A Fine Day Out
I think the bikes will stay the same. The K75 for sure remains my favorite. The GT does not own my heart, and would be the likely choice for a swap. But as the temps hover in the 30's, I'm not resolved to make any changes in the lineup.

What may happen this year is a rental bike. I am weighing my options for attending the BMW MOA rally in Redmond, OR in July. I need more vacation time than I have to properly enjoy a trip across the country. So how about crossing the country by plane, renting and enjoying a West coast ride? Hmmm?

Kiddo Speaking of vacation time, Lisa and I are looking forward to some sun and fun in Cancun, Mexico come February. We are long overdue for a non riding vacation. This time next year we will be planning a riding vacation with two bikes! Can't wait.

Did I tell you the job is going well. I'm very happy with what I'm doing and who I am doing it for. I'm working my butt off, and enjoying it too.

There are many reasons for optimism in 2010. Might even keep up with the resolutions to write more. Hope you make everything you can out of the new year!
